Millie Telan

Millie specialises in both Federal and State taxation laws.


Millie’s areas of expertise include advising and implementing corporate and group restructuring, in-bound investments, business tax planning, large scale property development, business and corporate structuring including mergers and acquisitions, employee share option plans and other employment related transactions. She also practices in general trust law, and superannuation law. Millie helps clients in conflict with the Australian Taxation Office and state revenue authorities.

Millie was formerly a Partner in the Tax and Superannuation practice of Thomsons Lawyers in Sydney. She is also a qualified accountant. Before moving to legal practice, Millie worked in a tax advisory role at several firms of accountants. She combines her accounting and legal skills and knowledge to give the best practical outcome for her clients.

Millie contributes and has contributed her services to various professional bodies and associations. She is a member of the Business Law Committee and the NSW Office of State Revenue/NSW Law Society Liaison Committee. She served for two years as Treasurer of the NSW Women Lawyers Association, and as a member of the Education Committee of the Taxation Institute for many years. In addition, Millie was, until 30 June 2010, a member of the NSW Asia Business Council. As President of the Australia-Philippines Business Council, she has particular expertise in advising on doing business between Australia and the Philippines, and setting up business in the Philippines.

Outside taxation law, Millie advises on and assists in compliance obligations under the Australian Anti Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism Funding legislation.
